I have always dreamed of having my own radio station. This was a dream even before the Internet became a household word. I studied media in college, but I ended up getting a degree in business instead because it seemed I would be able to make a more comfortable living that way. Well, I did, but I still have my passion for having my own radio station. In today’s times, I knew that was completely possible thanks to the advancements of the Internet. I decided to look at my options not long ago, and Shoutcast had everything I could possibly want in a radio station.
I had talked to my wife about this first, and she encouraged me to go for my dreams. I had plenty of time to do this because I am self employed, and comfortably so. That means I can have my own hours, which would allow me to do both, make a comfortable living plus do what has been my passion since I was a college kid 30 years ago. What I liked about Shoutcast the most is that they have so many options with what they offer, and I knew that I would have fun configuring everything.
The control panel is out of this world. The options on it are phenomenal. I am able to track who listens to my shows, and I can actually see where my listeners are at on a map. I was also able to set it up so anyone listening can request the song they want to hear, and it is all done automatically. I had a few problems at first, which were entirely my own fault, and the customer service team at Shoutcast went above and beyond to help me get things sorted. I was always satisfied with where I was in life, but now I am happy too!
