The General Motors Legal Staff seeks an in-house litigation attorney to manage commercial and product liability claims and cases, and to advise the client on emerging legal issues. UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN HEALTH SYSTEM - SENIOR ATTORNEY

The University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) Legal Office, a division of the Office of the General Counsel for the University, is seeking an experienced health care law attorney. Responsibilities for this position include providing advice on revenue cycle issues affecting inpatient and outpatient reimbursement with commercial and public payors; advising the University's benefits office about group health plan matters; employee benefit plan regulatory compliance; data use and privacy and security matters.  Applicants must have a minimum of 12 years of experience in health care law with large law firm experience and/or in-house legal experience representing a health care system with multiple operations. Preference given to applicants with employee benefit plan experience, reimbursement practice and broad privacy and security experience. State Bar Young Lawyers Section and WBA Sponsor Mock Trial for SKIP

Volunteers Needed!!!

The WBA and the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section are sponsoring a mock trial presentation in conjunction with the Michigan chapter of SKIP, Inc. (Save Kids of Incarcerated Parents).  The mock trial will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 9 am until 12 pm at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice, 1441 St. Antoine Street, Detroit, MI 48226.

We are asking WBA members and others to volunteer as attorney coaches for the participating SKIP students and as jurors. WBA Summer Clerkship Program

The Wolverine Bar Association Summer Clerkship Program strives to increase the number of minority attorneys employed as partners, associates, in-house counsel, and in other well-respected positions within the legal community. To achieve this goal, the Program places first-year minority law students in clerkship positions that will provide opportunities to establish a network of contacts, develop practice skills, and acquire other intangible benefits gained from the experience of working in a challenging professional environment, all of which are critical to the launch of a successful legal career. The Program also provides participating employers an additional mechanism to accomplish their individual diversity goals and express their commitment to and underscore the importance of diversity in the legal community.
